Friends of Steyning Grammar School (FoSGS) is a charity whose role is to:
FoSGS is run by volunteers and we are always looking for new people to join us. We are a friendly bunch and it is a great way to meet other parents and be involved in supporting the school.
We meet regularly to plan and review our events and activities, all of which are dependent on volunteers. We all bring different skills and levels of commitment. So, whether you just want to help out for a couple of hours at our second hand uniform sale, project manage an event, distribute leaflets, be on the committee or just help out where you can, then we have a role for you!
Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or if you prefer telephone contact, pass a message through the school office if you would like more information or to join us.
Our main event of the year is the Winter Fair which takes place every November. This year's Fair will be held on Saturday, 16th November 2019.
Steyning Grammar School Heads of Departments provide a wide range of requests for what they need and each year the FoSGS Committee discuss and agree which to fund.
The following are just a few examples of items that FoSGS have purchased for the school:
SGS Brilliant Book Awards, author visits, books, competition prizes, keyboards and other equipment for Music, SGS games kit for various sports, funding extra-curricular coaches, outdoor picnic benches, 3D printer, chrome books, books for Humanities, dictionaries for all classrooms, LED lights for Drama Hall, art books for contextual understanding and camera equipment for Photography and Art students.
Please donate any school uniform you no longer need to the school. FoSGS run second-hand uniform sales to support parents and carers. All proceeds go to the school. Please only donate clean uniform that is in a wearable condition. Uniform can be dropped to any of the school receptions.
We run two types of Parent Forum:
