It is our aim to provide an environment in which you can fulfil your academic potential, as well as developing socially and emotionally. To enable this, we have a comprehensive Support Programme.
You will be placed in a tutor group with an experienced mentor who plays a significant part in all aspects of your life in the Sixth Form College. You will meet your tutor regularly for one-to-one interviews. If you need individual advice, your tutor is there to help you.
Steyning Grammar School has been allocated funds by the Government in order to provide a 16-19 Bursary Fund for students who wish to apply for financial assistance to enable them to stay in education. The purpose of the fund is to support students who are vulnerable, or in hardship and have difficulty in paying for books, materials, travel expenses etc.
The bursary policy below outlines the criteria with regards to each scheme so that they can establish whether they qualify for financial support.
The school will assess all applications to establish what level of support can be offered. Please note that funds are limited, therefore funding may not be guaranteed. If the application is successful, we will contact the parent/carer and student to confirm how payments will be made and when. Payments are broken down into instalments and paid once each half term subject to attendance, including lateness and punctuality, behaviour and standard of work – they will be asked to enter into a contract with the school which details the expectations in these three areas.
Bursary Application Form – 2025-2026.
