Steyning Grammar School has a wide range of halls, rooms and sports venues available for hire throughout the year.

• Drama Hall & adjoining Foyer (bar reception area) – ideal for performances, conferences & lectures
• The Russell Centre – A large space ideal for conferences
• Classrooms – many classrooms across the two sites including Music & IT classrooms
• Multi Purpose Sports Hall – A large space with Badminton Courts
• Gymnasium – A large space for events/activities
• Astroturf Pitch
• Tennis Courts/Netball Courts
• The Octagonals – our main dining facility with modern kitchen facilities
• Extensive outside grounds set out as football, rugby and rounders pitches
• Car park area

We have a full public entertainment Premises Licence at our Main School site, but can apply for temporary event notices as required.

Drama Hall
The Drama Hall is a specialist entertainment space capable of seating 300 people and a great venue for handling both intimate and spectacular events alike. As well as a large drop-down screen and projector, our hall is equipped with a state-of-the-art theatrical lighting rig. Running from an ETC Ion Lighting Controller, we have an array of spotlights, coloured lighting and moving lights that can cater for any type of event.

Also housed in the hall is a Behringer X32 Mixing Desk; capable of supporting 32 audio inputs and already connected to a PC, this powerful desk allows great flexibility for playing back music, catering for live bands and much more.
A range of microphones are available to use.

To compliment this space we also have ‘The Foyer Area’ that works well as an area for refreshments and can be set up as an event bar area.

Assembly Room

This is another space that is well suited to conference type events,and is set up to be user friendly. As well as a projector screen and ceiling mounted projector, there is also a ready-to-use PA system; capable of playing audio from laptops, tablets and phones, as well as providing multiple microphone channels. The four staggered speakers on the ceiling ensure your speaker’s voice carries across the entire space.

This area can be used in conjunction with our Sixth Form Common Room and Catering facility.

Boarding Facilities

We have boarding facilities at the school with 115 beds across two main boarding houses.

Bolton House is the newest boarding house and can sleep 58 in mostly modern single en suite rooms, with four twin rooms. This boarding house has a large social area, IT suite and Gym with a large dining area with the capacity to seat 120 guests in one sitting.

Bennett House can sleep 38 in mostly single and twin rooms with a number of interconnected triple and four bed rooms. There is a large social room and common room area with small kitchen.

Wykeham House is a period style property sleeping 19 in a mixture of twin, triple and four bedded rooms. It too benefits from a common room area with kitchen and has also been recently redecorated.

The boarding houses have outside hard playing courts used for basketball, Just in front of the main boarding houses are the playing fields. The houses benefit from being a short stroll from the historic Steyning high street and are located in the surrounds of the idyllic South Downs, accessible from the high street

We can accommodate a variety of groups within our boarding facilities and are able to discuss self-catering and full catering options, with menu’s provided tailored to your requirements.
