Students at Steyning Grammar School, part of the high achieving Bohunt Education Trust (BET), are celebrating after receiving their GCSE results, enabling them to embark on the next stage of their education journey.

The 2026 cohort have achieved some excellent results, whilst demonstrating great resilience, commitment and determination during their time at the school.

The accomplishments of students were celebrated across the board. Particular highlights include:

  • Ewan who achieved a grade 9 in all of his 9 GCSE subjects, one of which he completed in year 10, and will now be going on to study Maths, further Maths, Physics and Chemistry at Steyning Grammar School Sixth Form.
  • Rosie, who achieved 7 grade 9s and 4 grade 8s as well as a grade 7 in Music, which she completed in year 10.
  • Edward and Lucas, both entered for 11 GCSEs in year 11, both achieved 8 grade 9s, 2 grade 8s and a grade 7.
  • Casper, who achieved a 9 in Art, Science, English Language, English Literature, Maths, History, Performing Arts and RE, as well as an 8 in French.
  • Sonia, who joined SGS from Ukraine in Year 8,  achieved a 9 in Russian, as well as grade 8s in Business Studies, English Literature, Food Prep, Maths, Psychology and RE as well as grades 7 in Science, English Language and Further Maths.

Students did particularly well in English Literature, Art and Design, Photography and Biology.

These results, sustained now over several years, reflect our belief that students at SGS ‘flourish’ and represent the hard work and dedication of the School’s staff to ensure high academic expectations and the commitment of our students to do their very best.

Together, BET and Steyning Grammar School aim to support young people to thrive throughout their school journeys and then on into later life, with educational, enrichment and pastoral support both inside and outside the classroom.

Aidan Timmons, Headteacher at Steyning Grammar School, said:

“It really has been another vintage year for us with so many incredible stories both individual and collective. We are extremely proud of our students and their hugely deserved achievements. They have worked so hard throughout their time with us, and it is wonderful to see that hard work pay off and be celebrating with them today.

“I would like to thank our entire school community for their ongoing support. We look forward to seeing our students progress to the next stage of their education and fulfil their goals.”

Neil Strowger, Trust Leader at BET, said:
