We were invited to receive a Democracy Award from West Sussex County Council on Monday evening. Ella and Grace from our Student Leadership Team whizzed across after their work experience to join Mr Timmons in Chichester to accept the award, which was for our work promoting student voice in our school.

The celebrations don’t stop there! Next week, Ella joins the rest of the debate team who are again through to the finals in Newcastle as part of European Youth Parliament!

We’re incredibly proud of all our student leaders for representing our school with such passion, dedication and excellence. Congratulations to everyone involved!

Last Friday we were delighted to welcome Steyning’s MP, Andrew Griffith, to visit SGS and experience first hand our ‘outstanding’ boarding house. During his visit, Andrew met with Aidan Timmons, Headteacher and Sarah Murton, Head of Boarding, toured our facilities and gained an insight into the vibrant boarding community that makes SGS so special. We were so proud to showcase the warm, supportive environment we provide for our boarders, as well as the high standards recognised in our recent inspection.

We were then fortunate enough to welcome Andrew to the Upper School in Steyning, whereby he took part in a lively and engaging Q&A with our Sixth Form students. Covering a wide range of topics, the discussion gave students a valuable opportunity to share their views, ask thoughtful questions and gain a deeper insight into life in Parliament and current affairs.
