Lexia®PowerUp Literacyis an online programme designed to help students in Year 7 to 11 become confident learners. PowerUp simultaneously addresses gaps in literacy skills while helping students build the higher-order skills they need to comprehend, analyse, evaluate, and compare increasingly complex texts.
PowerUp works by creating a ‘personalised’ programme of online lessons, games and activities of every learner, giving them weekly ‘goals’ of targets and minutes, enabling them to progress rapidly through the three main areas: word study; grammar and comprehension.
PowerUp helps to deliver the exact instruction each student needs to become a proficient reader.
We recognise that not all children will have purchased an iPad and so have booked computer rooms for all timetabled Lexia lessons. Please ensure your child brings headphones with a round jack that will fit into a PC into school for these lessons to allow access to personalised learning.
