Friends of Steyning Grammar School

Friends of Steyning Grammar School (FoSGS) is a registered charity run by volunteers which aims to undertake fundraising activities and promote the relationship between parents/carers and the school.

We are always looking for new people to join us. Everyone is welcome. It’s a great opportunity to support the school and meet other parents.

We meet several times a year to plan and review our events and activities, all of which are dependent on volunteers.  We all bring different skills and levels of commitment.  So, whether you just want to help out for a couple of hours at a second hand uniform sale, organise part of an event, be on the committee or pitch in where you can, then we have a role for you.

Second Hand Uniform

FoSGS run second-hand uniform sales to support parents and carers.  We have a large selection of good quality donated uniform at very reasonable prices. We try to hold a sale every term.  

Fundraising

We raise funds in various ways to support the school.  These include events such as the Winter Fair, second hand uniform sales, and donating while shopping schemes. All the funds that we raise are used to provide resources to enhance the experience of students in the school.

Steyning Grammar School Heads of Faculty provide a wide range of requests for what they need and the FoSGS Committee discuss and agree which to fund.

The following are a few examples of items that FoSGS have funded for the school:

Mask sets for drama, author visits, books, competition prizes, extra-curricular PE coaches, outdoor picnic benches, 3D printer, chrome books, LED lights for Drama Hall, art books for contextual understanding and camera equipment for Photography and Art students.
