A high standard of personal appearance is expected of all students.

We believe a good school uniform presents an image of the highest standards and expectations.  School uniform has a long and honourable record of preventing arguments about what should or should not be worn for school.  Our policy continues that tradition.  Its main aim is not to stifle the self expression of youth; it is simply to ensure that your child comes to school in practical, smart clothes, ready to do his or her best.

Please ensure that all garments are clearly marked with the owner’s name. Undergarments should not be visible.

Form Tutors will check that the correct Uniform is being worn. If there are temporary problems concerning the wearing of the correct school uniform, a note of explanation to the Tutor is required. Students who are seriously or persistently out of uniform will be referred to a senior member of staff.

If these guidelines present difficulties for religious beliefs, we will be pleased to discuss them and agree some mutually acceptable clothing. Expensive fashion wear is not to be worn and the school will take no responsibility for the loss of such items. Please keep them at home.

Aerosols are not permitted in school – when used in a confined environment they can be a serious health hazard to some people.
