Chaplaincy is an important part of life within the Boarding Community at Steyning Grammar School. Rooted in the school’s Christian foundation, chaplaincy seeks to support the spiritual, pastoral, and emotional wellbeing of every boarder, regardless of faith or background.
The School Chaplain is available to support students throughout the week, offering a listening ear, pastoral care, prayer, and guidance during both everyday challenges and significant life events.
Boarders are encouraged to explore questions of faith, meaning, and purpose through opportunities such as Bible study, Christian Union, prayer, and discussion. Support is also available for those wishing to explore Christian faith more deeply or prepare for Confirmation.
Throughout the year, boarders are invited to participate in key services that mark the rhythm of school life, including Welcome, Remembrance, Christmas, Easter, and Leavers’ Services. These provide opportunities for reflection, celebration, and community.
Steyning Grammar School is committed to creating a caring and nurturing environment where students of all faiths and none are welcomed, respected, and supported as they flourish academically, personally, and spiritually.
